6.1 Getting into the PaPCo environment

All the tasks outlined in this chapter require you to be within an active IDL session, with all the PaPCo environment set up. In this way all the PaPCo procedures, functions and environmental variable settings are available to the module developer.

Start up your IDL session as if you were going to use PaPCo. Type

idl papco_setup or

idl papco_startup (see Section 3.6)

Now instead of going into PaPCo stay at the IDL prompt. You are now in the PaPCo environment.
