Subsections

1.3 Distribution

1.3.1 PaPCo Web page

The PaPCo package can be obtained through the PAPCO Software Home Page which is maintained on the CCR (CAMMICE/CEPPAD/Rapid) team home page. This includes an on-line Web manual equivalent to this printed copy. You can reach these sites as follows:

This site does not contain any of the raw data files needed for the various PaPCo modules. It's up to the user to obtain the data he/she needs. The latest modules use the ``PaPCo get remote data'' facility, which automatically gets the files needed over the net.

The main PaPCo functionality can be used with the standard plot_type module which works with a sample data file for Jan 11, 1997. This is a fully functional module and can be used for testing.

1.3.2 PaPCo servers

Currently under construction are PaPCo servers at LANL and UIOWA. Initially these will allow you to select from several pre-defined products and to submit data requests for user-defined time ranges via the Web. The GIF or Postscript file of the plot can then be viewed or down-loaded.

As a second step a Web Panel Composer that mimics some of the PaPCo features will become available, so that the user can ``Compose'' his/her own plot on the Web.
